With the fall of consumer trust, Public Relations is coming into an unprecedented golden age. Makovsky + Company CEO Ken Makovsky joins Inside Communications’ Mike Bako to discuss how businesses are using PR to re-create their pre-recession status.
For Immediate Release
December 13, 2011- Speaking Channel TV’s Public Relations talk-show Inside Communications with Mike Bako has released its latest interview with Ken Makovsky, CEO of Makovsky + Company. Mr. Makovsky sat down with host Mike Bako to talk about Public Relation’s closely approaching “golden age” and it’sit role in rebuilding the nation’s weakened consumer trust.
In this week’s interview, Mr. Makovsky explained that the current economy, combined with the public’s confusion of who trust online, has consumer confidence in the tank. For companies to get back into pre-recession shape, they must be proactive in getting a clear message out to the media and online. By having a PR firm consistently manage and monitor this message, companies will eventually build support among consumers.
“The cost of not doing public relations is getting greater,” states Mr. Makovsky. “If you don’t have an insurance structure set up through public relations you can bring a company down.”
Because businesses are using Public Relations firms more than ever, Ken Makovsky sees this as a golden age for Public Relations. In his article for PRSA, he explains seven reasons for these changes, briefly touching on the important points and how they have affected consumer philosophy.
