It seems to have come to fruition as a number of major battles are playing out at present, including Novartis AG’s offer Alcon Inc., Astellas Pharma’s hostile bid for OSI Pharmaceuticals Inc. and Air Products and Chemicals aggressive pursuit of Airgas Inc.
