Kenneth D. Makovsky CEO

Ken founded Makovsky + Company in 1979.  He has been named a “PR All-Star” and the top business-to-business counselor in the public relations industry and is the 2007 winner of the John W. Hill Award, the New York Chapter of PRSA's most prestigious individual award.

Founder and past president of IPREX, the third largest global corporation of independent public relations firms, Ken is a member of The College of Fellows, the honorary organization of the Public Relations Society of America; the Arthur Page Society, an honorary organization of public relations leadership; the Advisory Committee of the Newhouse School of Communications (Syracuse University) Public Relations Executive Distant Learning Program and the Board of Trustees of the Institute for Public Relations.

He is former president of the Washington University Alumni Club in New York and is currently a member of the University’s Board for the School of Arts and Sciences.  Ken holds a JD degree from Washington University School of Law in St. Louis, Missouri, as well as a Bachelor of Arts from the University.
